Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata)medium-sized perching duck, closely related to the North American Wood Duck. Native to Eastern Asia. Grows to 16-19 in (41–49 cm) with 25-29 in (65–75 cm) wingspan. Eats acorns, insects, grain and fruits. Symbol of happiness and marital fidelity in some asian cultures. Taste bad, not hunted for food. Habitat destruction having negative impact on asian birds.
