Wood Duck (Aix sponsa); also Carolina Duck. Native to North America. Grows 19-21 in (47 to 54 cm); wingspan 26-29 in (66 to 73 cm). Eats berries, acorns, and seeds, insects. 75% of Wood Ducks in Pacific Flyway are non-migratory. Protected by Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918.
